How do I record a voice note?
Open Note Taker, sign in once with Google, then on the home screen press and hold the big red mic button. A live timer shows the duration. Release to save the note.
Why does my note say "too short"?
To prevent accidental taps, recordings shorter than about half a second are discarded. Hold the mic button a little longer.
Where are my notes stored?
Notes are saved as .m4a files inside the App's private folder on your device (Android/data/<app>/files/notes). They never leave your device unless you tap Share.
What permissions does the App need?
Microphone (to record voice notes when you press the mic), and optionally Contacts (only if you use the BabyCode workspace mode and want contact name lookup). Internet is used for sign‑in. The App does not use call log, SMS, phone state or location.
How do I share a note?
Open the note in the player and tap the share button. Pick any app you have installed (WhatsApp, Email, Drive, etc.) and the audio file will be sent.
How do I delete a note?
Open the note and tap the delete button. The file is removed from your device permanently.
What is the BabyCode workspace mode?
It's an additional mode that appears only for verified BabyCode visa counsellors after sign‑in. It lets them pick a folder using Android's system folder picker and browse the audio files inside that folder. Regular users will not see this mode.
Does the App record in the background?
No. Recording only happens while your finger is pressing the mic button. There are no background services and no auto‑recording of any kind.
How do I delete my account?
Email us at support@babycode.in from your registered email address and we will remove your account. Voice notes stored on your device are unaffected.
The mic button doesn't seem to work — what should I do?
Make sure you've granted the microphone permission. Go to your phone's Settings → Apps → Note Taker → Permissions, enable Microphone, then reopen the app.
Which Android versions are supported?
Note Taker supports Android 7.0 (Nougat) and above.
